Bella Hadid Brings Back the 'Cowboy Core': Everything You Need to Know About This Trend

Amidst the plethora of trends inspired by the West that we keep circling back to, "cowboy core" is the hottest trend in fashion right now, and we get exactly why. Originally dating back to the 19th century, this trend features the very classic elements of Western style and culture, which today, in 2024, translates to the seamless integration of the core elements of this rough and rugged style with hints of modernity.

The aesthetic, which has seen a dramatic resurgence in the present year following the early 2010s, is all about leather, bold buckles, denim, and fringes. At the same time, for the color palette, think all things earthy and subdued with a slight pinch of drama through occasional pops of color. Metallic accents, be it in those jagged buckled belts or bolo ties, are a prominent player when talking about anything and everything cowboy.

While many runway appearances have previously showcased phenomenal interpretations of the modern cowboy look, Bella Hadid's take on the trend is the one that has truly left us gasping for air. Hadid recently arrived in Manhattan for a promotional event for "Windows to the West: Horse Sense," a documentary film narrating the story of Benuelos, the model's cowboy boyfriend. Bella Hadid donned the countryside attire.

She sported a black silk button-up shirt paired with denim jeans under riding chaps that featured fringe detailing. This cowgirl attire was accentuated by the addition of the signature cowboy hat, a buckle belt, and, of course, a pair of c boots. The American fashion model effortlessly epitomized the cowgirl attire with a touch of sultriness that impeccably balanced out the rough and feminine elements in her look.

As Hadid's take on the cowboy trend has left us entirely stunned, 2024 and many preceding years, too, have seen numerous other elucidations of the aesthetic.

When it comes to keeping things sexy and cutting-edge, nobody does it better than the Kardashians. Kim K sported a chocolate brown plunging neckline top paired with matching bootcut jeans. The SKIMS founder carried a bucket hat to tap into the typical cowgirl feels while she also carried a dramatic black fur coat that tied together the entire look just right.

For Fall-Winter 2024, Pharrell Williams, the newly appointed creative director of Louis Vuitton, came up with a Western-American cowboy-inspired theme for Louis Vuitton men's. While the collection featured diverse styles, color schemes, and silhouettes, key elements from the popular cowboy trend, such as cowboy hats and boots, remained a recurring and prominent aspect of the remarkable collection.

The reality TV star's take on the cowboy attire involved a denim ensemble featuring an overall rough and distressed attire. Her gorgeous necklace, stacked alongside the bead-studded denim corset and bucket hat, completed the look.

As we witness the undeniable revival of the cowboy core, the trend is certainly a subtle reminder of how styles and aesthetics from the past keep circling back, often blending modern sophistication with present-day attire choices.

Cowboy Core has especially seen a lot of interpretations by renowned public figures and celebrities, who have often been spotted donning the attire with hints of their personal touches that tie the incredibly unique looks together. From Hadid's chic yet sultry cowgirl appearance to Pharrell's vibrant and modernized take on the trend, one thing we can certainly vouch for is that the cowboy is back, and this time, it is here to stay.
