Amidst the plethora of trends inspired by the West that we keep circling back to, "cowboy core" is the hottest trend in fashion right now, and we get exactly why. Originally dating back to the 19th century, this trend features the very classic elements of Western style and culture, which today, in 2024, translates to the seamless integration of the core elements of this rough and rugged style with hints of modernity.
The aesthetic, which has seen a dramatic resurgence in the present year following the early 2010s, is all about leather, bold buckles, denim, and fringes. At the same time, for the color palette, think all things earthy and subdued with a slight pinch of drama through occasional pops of color. Metallic accents, be it in those jagged buckled belts or bolo ties, are a prominent player when talking about anything and everything cowboy.

While many runway appearances have previously showcased phenomenal interpretations of the modern cowboy look, Bella Hadid's take on the trend is the one that has truly left us gasping for air. Hadid recently arrived in Manhattan for a promotional event for "Windows to the West: Horse Sense," a documentary film narrating the story of Benuelos, the model's cowboy boyfriend. Bella Hadid donned the countryside attire.
She sported a black silk button-up shirt paired with denim jeans under riding chaps that featured fringe detailing. This cowgirl attire was accentuated by the addition of the signature cowboy hat, a buckle belt, and, of course, a pair of c boots. The American fashion model effortlessly epitomized the cowgirl attire with a touch of sultriness that impeccably balanced out the rough and feminine elements in her look.
As Hadid's take on the cowboy trend has left us entirely stunned, 2024 and many preceding years, too, have seen numerous other elucidations of the aesthetic.
